Bénédicte Mundele Kuvuna
Message from the President & CEO
« The Leadership Team at Kuvuna Foundation is committed to raise a new class of young Congolese leaders and entrepreneurs. At the early age of 14, my parents, both co-founders of Kuvuna Foundation, dragged me to their very first Youth Leadership Camp held at The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK), and sponsored by the US Embassy in Kinshasa, DRC. Little did I know that this one-week time spent listening and learning from speakers after speakers who shared their experiences from their successes and failures would shape my life today as a servant leader. At 21 years old, I received the Anzisha Prize sponsored by Africa Leadership Academy in South Africa and The Mastercard Foundation. In 2013, I served as the very first Curator of the Global Shapers Hub in Kinshasa, a youth branch of World Economic Forum. In 2015, I completed a Master Program in Food Innovation in Italy. A Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship grant recipient. Was named by BBC News 2019 as one of the 100 most inspiring and influential Women from around the world. Just to say that my dream is to see a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs who do not consider themselves as victims, but who believe to be CHANGEMAKERS. Actors of change who take ownership of their fate. “If It Is to Be, It’s up to Me” I do believe that sustainable communities are built around a common purpose, one that is bigger than any one person in that community. Our mission to Mentor, Equip, Empower, Train is thrilling and challenging. » We hope you will join us in supporting this great vision.
